Under Budget! / The winning low bid for construction of the Quigley-designed Seven Trees Community Center and Branch Library in San Jose comes in 16% under budget. The 60,000-square-foot project will anchor a 12-acre park site, providing neighborhood residents with a place to conduct meetings, stage performances, hold rallies, play sports, take classes, and enjoy all the resources of a modern library. The facility is slated to open in 2010.

Ennobling Tilt-Up / As the keynote speaker at the Tilt-Up Concrete Association’s 2007 national convention at the University of Maryland, Rob discusses tilt-up construction’s humble warehouse beginnings and the firm’s efforts to develop this economical system as appropriate for civic and academic buildings.

El Faro / Massing models are complete for “El Faro,” a residential high-rise in Ensenada, Mexico, that Rob designed for PICSA Development Group. El Faro is envisioned as the signature tower for PACIFICA at Ensenada Bay, a planned condo-hotel resort community. Watch Rob talk about the project here.

Library Talk / In May of 2006, Rob is invited to speak in Baton Rouge about the design of the San Diego New Central Library. The event, "Celebrate Architecture," was sponsored by AIA Louisiana.

Maybeck Award 2005 / Rob is presented with the AIA California’s prestigious Maybeck Award for lifetime achievement in producing consistently distinguished design. See the Maybeck Award entry here.
